This module of the Heart to Heart Chaplaincy Certification program is to ensure that each chaplain candidate is appropriately instructed as to the essence of Christian truth—truth about God as our Father, Jesus as the Christ—the Son of the living God, and the Holy Spirit: This includes the dilemma of man’s sin and the solution found in God’s plan of salvation; truth about God’s revealed will for His people. The Christian chaplain must ‘know’ why he believes what he says he believes or he will not be able to function effectively as an ambassador for Christ. Misunderstandings about salvation lead to wrong beliefs about God and thus, Jesus as the Christ. Errors here can lead one to hell rather than Heaven (Matt. 7:22:23).
This module of the Heart to Heart Chaplaincy Certification program is to ensure that each chaplain candidate is committed to providing pastoral care and counseling based on the full council of God’s Word as they are led by and in and through the Ministry of God’s Presence as supplied by the Person of the Holy Spirit.
